This Software Privacy Notice applies only when proprietary components of Ocelot-Cloud that require license validation are used.

If you use only open-source components of Ocelot-Cloud without enabling premium features, no data is transmitted to or processed by the Maintainer.

1. Controller

The controller within the meaning of applicable data protection laws is the Maintainer of Ocelot-Cloud.

2. Scope

This Notice applies solely to data transmitted to maintainer-operated infrastructure in connection with license validation and service protection for proprietary components.

3. License Verification

When premium features are enabled, technical data may be transmitted to a license server for the purpose of:

  • Validating license status
  • Preventing misuse
  • Ensuring service integrity

This may include:

  • License key or license identifier
  • IP address
  • Date and time of validation
  • Technical request metadata

The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in preventing misuse).

4. No Telemetry or Tracking

The Ocelot-Cloud software does not include analytics, tracking, profiling, advertising technologies, or behavioral monitoring.

No personal data is transmitted during normal operation of self-hosted instances except as required for license validation of proprietary components.

5. Self-Hosted Deployments

When you deploy or operate Ocelot-Cloud on your own infrastructure, you act as the data controller for all personal data processed within your deployment.

The Maintainer does not have access to, control over, or responsibility for data processed in self-hosted environments.

6. Hosting

License validation infrastructure is operated using hosting providers located in Germany.

7. Data Retention

Data processed for license validation is retained only as long as necessary for license management, security, or legal compliance.

Technical logs are retained for a limited period for security and abuse prevention purposes.

8. Data Sharing

Data is not sold and is not used for advertising or marketing purposes.

Data may be processed by hosting providers acting as processors.

9. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws, you may have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and objection.
