Backup setup example

This setup is provider-agnostic. Any provider offering SSH-accessible storage and provider-managed backups can be used. We use Hetzner Storage Box for the backup system. This mention is based on operational experience only. Ocelot-Cloud is not affiliated with or sponsored by Hetzner.

  • Create new project, e.g. “Ocelot-Cloud Backups”
  • Create Resource > Storage Boxes
  • Set an SSH key for access or password for root access
  • TODO …
    • somehow you get credentials
    • add them together with the host/IP to the ocelot-cloud backup configuration in the settings page
    • test connection, checkmark “enable backups” box and save
    • backups were successfully configured

TODO alert: access to ocelotcloud admin account should be separated from access to the backup storage. If one is compromised, the other should remain secure.
